Yeah, winning is fun, but it is wrong when someone plays only for winning. People should play for fun, and fun and winning are still not the same thing. For example, a player who is playing only to win, will do anything in order to accomplish that: including cheating! You can say again how there is no cheating in Empire Earth multiplayer, but that is not the point. The point is that, people who want to win will do anything to win - even if that means ruining fun of others.

I'd play for victory, I don't play for cheating ;-). A good game of hard battles is fun, and it will always stay fun :).

"A good game of hard battles is fun, and it will always stay fun :)."
-That is correct!

It is nice that you play for victory, and not for cheating, but for some people it is hard to separate these two things... Especially when it come to tournaments: there you can face hell of cheating! ;) It is a great thing if Sierra found way to completely prevent cheating in Empire Earth - in that case you live in a true Heaven.

There will never be a 100% waterproof anti cheat system. As any systems can be broken : )).

Also true, but better any anti cheating system than nothing! In some games there are a lot of cheats, and it is up to players to fight it. In Stronghold Crusader for example, most experienced players are able to "detect" cheating - they know most common ways of cheating, and they also know how to recognize it. But still, when we speak about games anti cheating: there is nothing to stop those cheaters to use that dirty tricks... Also, 90% of all Stronghold Crusader players know a lot of ways to cheat: everybody knows that, but none could have ever stopped that. It is only p to you, to find some fair guys, who also don't like cheating, and you know they are gonna give you a fair play! ;)

Replace Stronghold Crusader with Empire Earth and we have the same story ;)....

We also know how to recognize cheaters and we also have anti cheat patches. But nothing is foolproof :P

Also true! :D

Now I am thinking how there is no point writing here about all those things... We both like the same stuff, and we both have similar attitude to cheating and importance of having fun in a game. The only difference is that I don't like high speed Empire Earth, and I am simply against teaching other players (who are mostly new to multiplayer world) how to play. :D Am I right? :) I'm not selfish, I like it more to see more different tactics online, than seeing one single tactic which is the most effective. It doesn't matter is my tactic the more or less effective. I like originality!

Yea but the part about 1 tactic. Even if you have 1 tactic, you still need to work on how to make it actually working. For example, your "tactic" is a basic longsword start in middle sh. and your enemy is making crossbows. You can counter him (by adjusting your tactic) by making siege equipment to defeat his balista's.

There are many tactics and tricks to succesfully win a game :P. As in high speed, I think its more fun since it's faster. Slow-medium-fast are too slow for me ^^.

@lightnessking
Well, under 1 tactic, I wasn't meaning something like using one single army type or something like that. It is natural to observe what is your opponent doing, and to search for his weaknesses. Also I would add: this thing in Empire Earth you mentioned (about tactics) is that what kept me loyal to Empire Earth! The only thing I stand for is that those counter tactics would be more in use if the game speed was standard.

@Omega
Seems like an interesting book, only I don't have so mush time for reading these days, and I already have a lot of them on my mind... :(

You see, now I am tired to explain the same stuff over and over again.

There is no point to for us to keep "arguing" - we simply have different thinking about those matters, and that is the fact!

Why should someone play in high speed: the only reason could be that he is inpatient, and end of story! Does that simplifies the game: it surely has to!

Even if you played normal speed with the expertz on here they will make normal speed feel fast. You dont change the way the build orders go just because of different speed. All speed does is slow down the time a expert will own you on here lol :P
