If I were you right now tricky I'd be looking at AMD's hexacores but thats just what I would do, If it makes you feel better about the 930 I have it and its perfect, But the hexacore for the same price would probably last longer then the 930, Just to save nola some trouble
GET A 5850 NVDIA SUCKS, but either Video Cards are fine... what other games do you even play besides EE ? As for the case you can either leave at it is if you dont really care for them or get a Cooler Master HAF 932 if you wanna be flashy and have a lot of room for more HDDs ( we all know about your 1080p porn ) I really dont know why anybody would need a blu ray burner but hey thats you

Don't get 6GB of RAM because Windows can't use more than 4GB anyway. And you should probably ask yourself if you really need a Blu-ray player or not. If you actually buy your movies on a disc these days then go for it. If you just watch movies on TV, get them through some kind of online service, or illegally download them, save yourself ~$80 (£50+) and stick with a DVD burner.

Maybe scale back on the video card, what games are you going to be playing that need that much power?

By that Im guessing Starcraft 2 BF or CoD7, look the more you waste on your GPU the longer itll last and the better the Video effects will look, (Probally Nola's take on it) while others like ghost dont see a need in wasting 150+ more dollars on a graphicas card that will do the same. You can always look on http://www.Newegg.com http://www.Tigerdirect.com but im not sure if they ship to the UK for other PCs or maybe build it your self (Good luck with that.)

THats 1k USD 643.8740 British pounds Thats if your british its 786.8440 euros if not. All that you need is keyboard ( Logitech G15 is pretty good ) and a Mouse which is pretty much up to you since there are so many to choose from, You would have a little left over so you can buy extra case fans, probally anther HDD, Maybe a headset

Windows 7 can support up to 128 gigs. Windows xp can not support more then 3.5 to 4 gigs is probably where you got that from.

Windows xp 64 bit supports 128 gigabytes, windows 7 64 bit supports 192 gigabytes. Both windows 7 and Xp 32 bit support 4 gigabytes. Even though 64 bit versions support that much ram you'd never be able to use it.

I built my comp with 4 gigabytes of ram which is plenty with page file set off. A friend of mine gave me 2x2gb ram sticks so now I have 8gb. For some unknown reason battlefield bad company loads instantly now instead of it taking 2+min so I took the ram out and tried without it again same shit the game loads slower with 4gb instead of 8gb.

It's a mystery I've yet to understand the ram sticks are same brand, timing and speed maybe it's a chipset thing.

Had a problem similar to that.... one of the sticks wasn't booting I dont think BC2 would really take up 4 GB since SC2 and MW2 only go a little over 2GB, if you open up task manager and check your Physical Memory it probally would have said 2026 MB ( Something close to 2048 ) instead of the 4096 you should have, dont know why it did that sometimes it booted both sometimes it booted 1, thus making every game laggy, reseat the sticks that worked for me, that is if you really need 8 instead of 6

I want a decent motherboard, I've also looked at the Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H AMD 890, which is slightlty cheaper than the ASUS MB above. Unfortunately, Cyberpower seem to have mainly Asus MB on offer. Which MB shall I go for?

It seems they have no Triple Channel Memory at all, its either Dual Channel 4GB or Triple Channel 6GB, no reason to waste money on 8GB, Motherboards aren't really important since most of them offer the same USB 3.0 Sata III, Using Crossfire/SLI Mode is a waste, you have a 3 year warranty so you shouldn't worry too much

My two cents;

I suggest a 650 Corsair PSU. They are very efficient and 650 is all you would need for a typical gaming rig anyways.

4GB of RAM 8GB is a bit much.

ATI 5750.
Runs just as good as 5770 but is about 30-40$ cheaper. Really the 5770 will get about 3-8 more fps than a 5750 in the same settings. Also I believe the 5770 is a fucking aircraft carrier of a video card unless I'm mixing it up with something else.

AMD is knocking down all their processors' price, so I would wait a little while and save yourself a decent chunk of cash 40-80$.

Motherboards aren't very important. SATA III is important, but really Motherboards aren't THAT important. PSU and CPU are much more important, so is your case, memory, and video card.

As for your case I would get the same brand and model, but instead of a 310 or whatever get a 430 it is a much improved version, and is probably only 5-15$ more.

I wouldnt recommend buying an alienware. I have 2 and i wish that i had just gone to best buy or attempted to build my own.
