Hosting Games who is Right ?

Post by Lancelot5 »

Hey,

Had a disscussion between me and lightnessking about Katzers problems with lag ingame. Kaz was thinking that the svchost.exe running at 170k RAM is responsible for lag. And light agreed cause he thought its way to much. Having to much RAM is the reason for the lag.
lightnessking: yes
lightnessking: lancelot
lightnessking: if your RAM is overloaded
lightnessking: your cpu will not find intel fast enough
lightnessking: meaning it cannot handle EE's data aswell
lightnessking: -> lagg ingame
To my mind its wrong and I would have used ping / tracert to find out if its software or an connection based issue before searching for proccess that are maybe responsible for lag. I just dont get how less RAM will make other players ingame lag. Wouldnt it mean if i play with a slow graphic card or so others will have lag ? sound wired to me. And even with less RAM (dont think if that can happen nowadays), isnt it like the game will run out of sync instead of start lagging ?

So whats right, could someone with proper knowledge about that explain it ?

Please post the correct story and thoughts, and then complain. Also google the word Lagg and Latency. I'm not going to do it for you.

How quote can be wrong...
Why should I google for lag or latency ? For me lag is an latency issue. So that is maybe Kaz´s problem right now. Some also use lag do describe fps drops but to my mind these drops wouldnt affect others ingame.

I already explained you on the exact same way i explain it to 10 year old retards in call of duty, why fps drops (= cpu latency (doesn't have ANYTHING to do with the graphic card itself but at the same time it is a possibility. It can also be overheating of the cpu. But you're too stubborn to copy and paste that or wait, did you even read it? I bet not.) can affect the latency of EVERYONE in a game.

Yeah Sherlock, EE requiremens pretty much kill everything nowadays.

* Intel Pentium II 350 MHz
* 64 MB RAM
* CD-ROM-Laufwerk
* 4MB AGP oder 8 MB PCI Grafikkarte
* DirectX 8.0a
* 550 MB Festplattenspeicher

So even if u right and it (or background programm runing) can cause so much trouble for CPU you would have also "lag" for several offline applications and not only on online related ones. Was this the case with katzers problem ? ...
Also for games like Counterstrike, CoD etc its quite different. Even if u have there normal lag it doesnt affect other players and you say FPS drops will ?

Not sure if too stubborn to understand, or too retarded to understand, or not willing to understand.

I give up lance, I suggest you put 64 MB RAM in your motherboard and play EE. (Besides the fact that EE alreayd takes over 120 MB in your taskmanager, you only need 64 MB.)

Yes 170K svchost.exe + 64 MB RAM for EE is way to much for at least 2 Gigs RAM -.- ...
Kaz already said that it was a routerproblem which you would have find out with simple pinging in 1-2 mins. But Men keep on searching for process that kill your CPU and RAM when running the hardware-eating game EE. You were pretty much work at all.

Sigh, just because it wasn't kazters problem doesn't mean it can't cause lagg. You're really retarded. Jezus 3 days back on the forums and I'm already annoyed by retards like you.

Please give your computer to someone in Africa.
