Ron Paul for 2012
I wasn't planning on registering as a voter but I think I might have to now. Ron Paul is the only chance we have to save this country from self-destruction.
Any comments? For or against?

Re: Ron Paul for 2012
I think some of Ron Paul's platform is too radical for him to get elected (but I love it). Personally if Trump runs then I'll probably vote for him in the primary, otherwise Ron Paul will get my vote. I think Trump will stand a better chance against Obama and I really don't have a problem with him being the Republican candidate over Ron Paul. He's a multi-billionaire, and if he's been that successful running his company then he's probably in far better shape to run the country than 99.9999999999999999999999999% of other people.
And BTW you should definitely vote. It's kinda like that South Park episode... you're always going to have to choose between a giant douche and a turd sandwich, but your vote still matters. It's only until you find out that the entire outcome of the vote is nullified that your vote didn't matter.

Re: Ron Paul for 2012
Yeah I think Ron Paul doesn't have as much of a chance as he should because people like the morons on CNN will always misquote him and talk shit about him. Sadly there are too many people out there that are dumb enough to believe people like CNN. Donald Trump bankrupted himself and came close to it again quite a few times so I don't think he's the best man to have running our country. I would take either one over Mitt Romney though. I probably will end up registering within the next year, even if Ron Paul doesn't mean it I'll probably go for the Libertarian candidate.

Re: Ron Paul for 2012
That's a bit of an overstatement and I won't argue against it entirely, but when you move around as much money as him it's actually a lot easier to do than you think.P-51 wrote:Donald Trump bankrupted himself and came close to it again quite a few times
Anyway, I'd rather have someone that's not a politician take office than anything else. Politicians are 100% out there to fuck you over (they do it for a living).

No point in debating anyway, as Obama will be reelected (and rightfully so).

Re: Ron Paul for 2012
Yeah that is the only reason I would want Trump over Romney and Obama. Or even Palin, because Palin and Trump would be fucking clueless once they got elected so at least nothing bad will be done.Ghost wrote: Anyway, I'd rather have someone that's not a politician take office than anything else. Rightfully so? He's broken the law many times and he is pushing us closer to economic depression every year. It amazes me how so few people seem to realize that Obama is Bush Part II._thor wrote:No point in debating anyway, as Obama will be reelected (and rightfully so).

Re: Ron Paul for 2012
Obama has already fucked up 8 years worth of shit and he's only been in office for 2.5 years. Hes had his focus in the wrong areas ever since he took office. The people who voted for him and his seemingly amazing platform got robbed.

Re: Ron Paul for 2012
If Obama isn't re-elected I will be shocked.
However Ron Paul is looking very strong. He has been scary accurate on his predictions so for on Obama.
I just hope if he is elected he doesn't turn into Obama 2.0. Have an amazing platform and fail to meet half of the expectations.

Re: Ron Paul for 2012
The only possible way Ron Paul won't meet the expectations from his platform is if Congress doesn't pass the stuff he wants to do. But with issues like ending the Fed and getting out of the UN,
all you have to do is go up to them and say "hey we don't want to be here anymore". So there shouldn't be much of a problem with stuff like that.

Re: Ron Paul for 2012
First of all, Trump said today he's not running. Which didn't really matter as anyone with half a brain in America (not many of you) see him as the joke and conceited businessman that he is. Also it never fails to surprise me how many people set such high expectations for Obama to complete in not even one term yet. You do realise that turning around a country from the depths of despair that Bush brought us too takes time.
Bush started two wars and cut taxes for the richest of the rich at the same time. Trolol, what a funny guy.

Re: Ron Paul for 2012
Does that include bailing out Detroit at $66B, which had problems stemming back much farther than the Bush administration? (More power to Ford for fixing their own problems without the government's help.) Does that include bailing out banks at $700B so they could pay their executives their bonuses?_thor wrote:You do realise that turning around a country from the depths of despair that Bush brought us too takes time.
Why, when looking back, is it always the fault of the President when the country was in a recession (of any level)? The cause of the so-called economic decline was due to several factors that were beyond his control.
So, with your fallacious statement, I'll raise you this statement:
You do realize that since Obama took office, the unemployment rate has skyrocketed...

Re: Ron Paul for 2012
Bush defied all economics laws by cutting taxes not only for the richest but also for big oil companies, while starting two wars. That leaves no income to help slow down such a deficit.
o hey look what i can do!!! http://www.bushsucks.com/
btw, being in the highest tax bracket myself, we wouldn't mind paying more taxes. look at other places in the world with high/higher qualiity of life than us. they pay more than we do.
guess i'm the first to break the news, but, you aren't born with the god given right to have everything handed to you. you need to pay the government if you want it to take care of you

Re: Ron Paul for 2012
I would qualify my family as upper-middle class and we do not argue the taxes that we have to pay, but my father is a small business owner and as of recent the amount of taxes he now has to pay are absurd. Compared to the average citizen, the government hardly takes care of us, so why should we take care of it any more than it does for us?
Bush may have cut taxes for the upper income brackets, but what you're too stupid to realize is that the tax cut applied to all income brackets and it just so happens that because the upper brackets have a higher income, they also saved more money than everyone else. Proportionally, it was the same tax break, and even after that the upper brackets still pay more.
If you'd like to be more generous with how much you pay in taxes, then why don't you make a nice donation to the U.S. Government? I'm sure they'll use the money well. <-- total fucking sarcasm
And the last time I checked, government deficit does not equal economic recession. The government has been in debt since long before I was born. Can we get on the same page for that topic?
But I guess while I'm mentioning it, do you realize that in Obama's 2.5 years, he has increased the national debt the same amount that Bush did his entire 8 years? If Obama keeps going at his current rate, we'll probably get invaded by China or some shit because we owe them too much money. With Obama's "sign the bill in now, think about the consequences later" strategy, he has almost no chance of reducing the national debt.
