Basic Strategy for Pre

The basic strategy for liga that starts in pre is to pick Austria and advance to Stone Age, at which point you get Spearmen. Some players will pick Austria, advance to Stone Age and get Slingers, trying to get to Copper quickly and boom more. Both are valid, however Spearmen have a significant advantage as they will beat Slingers (sans houses), and they can run around and seriously harass the other guy, including killing the other person's hunt (something that obviously will take longer to do if you're using Slingers to do it simply due to travel time).
It is expected that you will epoch to Stone Age somewhere between 7 and 12 f11, depending on how much you are booming or rushing, and your spot obviously.
It should also be noted that Tower rush is fierce in Pre, and is also a viable strategy, especially in team games. Tower Rushers in this age generally still select Austria.
