For team games, it is expected that the wing will go Elite Guards with Spain. Some people will halb rush on wing in this age (generally with Austria, rarely with Spain), and others may attempt to musket rush and then switch to elite guards (with Spain), both of which are workable strategies but will by no means guarantee you a win in a team game against someone decent. Pockets will generally pick Assyrian Empire and go gun cav with some royals added in. Austria is sometimes picked in pocket for this age, but not very often.

In 1 vs 1, the standard strategy is to go Austria and halb rush, either forward barrack or otherwise.
