For me everything works like a charm, but a friend of mine gets this error all the time, no matter which name he choose, even If I register the account for him it doesnt work.
His nick is "Ce-Kay".

Tell him to make sure he has the latest version of .NET Framework installed (3.5 is the latest version), and also try re-installing the lobby.
