Cant connect- is server down?

Hi,
Installed EE tonight both on my computer and a friends,
We had one game (which was great)
But after our game we could not connect to the server, we got the error WS_WSAETIMEDOUT.
We also tried (for about an hour) to direct connect, but could not do this either.
Is the server currently down?
