Hey guys, I was just wondering how scenarios work with the new server now. I doubt there would be enough people on the server willing to play scenario maps, but is there any way to actually play one anyways? Since you cannot change your name to a color anymore, do scens still work?

Same as it did back in the day, you gotta whisper people who wants to come your IP, leave and go to other multiplayer and host it there... Aka the way we played on save-ee.

except this won't work anymore, since CheckCDKey=true.

You need to set it into false in wonlobby.cfg

And need to set it as true again, when you want to login neoee.

What are you talking about? it worked for me and some other guys who did TTP like 1month ago...

He should just make it so people can play scenarios in the normal lobby, would be quite easy, just create accounts such as RED, BLUE etc and Player 1, Player 2, with no password. That way people can log on onto the lobby and play scens in the normal lobby in those accounts, would make hosting much easier. He could probably even make it so there could be duplicates on at the same time, for multiple scens at the same time.

It is not just as easy as you think. What happens if two players want to play as "BLOO" at the same time in different scens? What if someone logs in as BLOO and goes afk and blocks the account while others can't play the scen then? Usernames must be unique, or stuff like whispering wouldn't work, you can't login with the same account at the same time (at least with the official design of the lobby protocol which I reimplemented). I could somehow design some special rooms where the server could deal with multiple names etc. pp., much work for nothing since nobody plays scenarios anyway.

Perhaps the reason why nobody plays scens is because of the difficulty it is to set it up.

Theres an option in one of the configs that allows people with the same name to join a game in direct connect.

Just because people like to play scenario's doesn't mean they're afraid to play other sets.

I personally play all sets. (pre in exception since it's imo too slow gameplay for me.)
I like scenario's a lot, and there are more players who play all sets and also like scenario's a lot.
