Save Empire Earth

Hey guys,

I've been playing Empire Earth on my older PC, but today I have installed it on my newer PC too. The thing is that, that on the newer PC I've got newer monitor as well - resolution on that computer is 1920x1080, and when I start the game, and when I start playing, everything is "much closer" - like zoomed in... Because of this, I fear that I might have some problems while playing, cause I would be able to watch more things in a time. Is there any solution to this problem?

Game version is 2.0.

So the game itself works great, only I would like to "zoom out" a little, so I could more easily play. Is there some other version for widescreen, or is there something I could do i game setup, or something else?

I didnt thought there is a problem with the resolution since i play for some years now on widescreen. But there is really a difference between a resolution of 800x600 compared to 1920x1080 i use. With lower resolution u see much more.

I hope there is a way to get this solved...

I believe it would be more logical, that if someone plays in higher resolution, that he should see more. And, if it is not one of 3x4 resolution - if it is 1920x1080, not to cut of some parts of the view (from the upper part, for example), but to add more - to the right, and to the left.

Also, one guy gave me a peace of advice - to try playing in 3x4 resolution, which is somewhat solving the problem - I can see more, but the screen is stretched now. Now the buildings, are a bit lower, for example.

But I would really love if there is a way to see more things at once.

EE wasn't designed with widescreen in mind, nor was it designed with modern high resolution monitors in mind.

I don't think widescreen monitors were even *remotely* even mainstream when EE came out.

If you want your widescreen monitor and EE to play nice, you can achieve that by setting the resolution to one that has a 4:3 aspect ratio.

If you want your monitor and EE to be best friends, buy a non-widescreen monitor with native resolution of 1280x1024 or less, and use that when you play.

Most older games limited the resolution one could play at in order to avoid giving players an unfair advantage by being able to see more of the screen. The original Starcraft, for example, limited resolutions to 640x480 ONLY.

Allowing people who purchase more expensive hardware to gain a massive advantage over others is *not* how one makes a good RTS game. It's pay2win in the dumbest possible form, where those selling the game don't even make money from people paying for better hardware.

Thanks for explanation, Omega. I will have to satisfy with one of 4x3 resolutions then. But also, I doesn't look bad this way (stretched). Also, those soldiers seem a bit cute this way.

Thanks for the other explanation as well - I wasn't thinking that way, but it makes sense. I mean, I wasn't considering multiplayer games, and that would be a huge advantage indeed.

i have mine set to 1152x864 32 bit

thats the one that best suited my needs playing, i just kept changing the resolution in game options till i found one i could use although its still not as good as having a square screen

??? i play my comp on 1920 x 1080 =O looks gud imo

I've set mine at 1200 and something x something, works like charm, now. Compared to that before.

i bought a widescreen too. i want to make it to 4:3 with a software or however. there is no solution with ee settings.

plz help me if u know how i could make it too 4:3 just when i want to play ee

Is there anything in properties that may work?

im playing on widescreen too, and i just set Resolution to 1024x768 which is really not beautiful, but you see so much more then on , for me, 1368x768

Black Stark, do u have left and right black ??? and you see like with 17' (not widescreen) ?
