Save Empire Earth

hey guys, I played a couple of games of aoc on my pc, closed the game, now when i try to open it i get this error unkown software exeption (0x80000003) in the location 0x00221a8f.
what happend?
how can i fix it?
I didnt install any new drivers
Running on windows 7 64 bit
4 gig of ram
amd turion II dual core 2.3 gh
ati raidon mobility hd 4200

side note the original empire earth works fine. its just the expantion that doesnt work, i tried repairing the install un installing and running in compatibility.

Yea it happened to crash for me aswell after installing the 2.8 patch (for EE in gameranger).

I run AOC with both lobby and 2.8 patch installed. It's the 2.1 RC patch that fucks me.
I suggest a reinstall anyway if you don't have RC or 2.8 Alpha patch. Seems like your EE.exe is corrupt/has error.

Why not service pack 2?

cus with my windows 7 i always ran it in xp service pack 3 and it works fine and anyone else i told to run it in that mode it runs perfecto too

didnt work you guys... still cant play aoc no matter how many times I uninstall... run in compatibility... whats qwrong with this

you just have lobby client yea ? or you got GR too ? i dont know much on aoc but il get kazter or that too post back here they know more on aoc setup side.

same problem. cant start aoc anymore. i have alpah 2.8 and RC 2.1 and lobby EE. How can i just remove the RC.2.1 if thats the problem? i cant make everything new cause someone helped me with all that shit. EE works fine on lobby and GR, but without aoc anymore. PLS

in software i only see alpha 2.8 and RC 2,1 ( by realforce ) so i cant remove only the RC 2.1. Any Ideas?

yes. You can't use Mega installer and get AOC to work, because the mega installer fucks with the registry. You need to manually install the patches u want, here is how:

1. Save your civs another place.
2. Uninstall GR patches
3. Uninstall EE and AOC and remove Sierra folder.
4. Install EE and AOC with Lobby patches
5. Rename Empire Earth folder, to Empire Earth Lobby
6. Go to Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> and repair Empire Earth.
7. Install RC 2.1 in Empire Earth folder, then rename it to Empire Earth RC
NOTE: Now you have Empire Earth Lobby, and Empire Earth RC folders in Sierra folder.
8. Go to control panel again, and repair EE once again.
NOTE: Now you have 3 EE on your computer.
9. Go to GR->Edit->Options, and set Empire Earth to: C:/Sierra/Empire Earth RC
10. Now it should work
*Note* It's important that the "Empire Earth" folder is a clean version (1.00.2020), that way your EE wont change versions.
*Note2* Don't rename the Art of Conquest folder, apparently some guys have gotten confused and done this.
