Crash when clicking random map in SP
I was playing ee normally, from an old copy a friend gave me to play LAN (with an old patch) It was playing fine, then I decided I wanted to get back on the lobby so I updated it via the patchy thingy in the lobby and then this shit started.
I can't host games, if I do, I can't actually press start game, the button becomes clickable but does nothing. When I press random map in SP the just crashes. I have reinstalled, deleted everything, installed from original CD's, gone through the registry deleted everything and anything related to EE and nothing. I also tried installing in a new directory. Nothing. Even if I freshly install the game no patches no ee updates no nothing it still crashes, at the moment there is absolutely no way the game works.
I need help.

Re: Crash when clicking random map in SP
Troubleshooting:
1. Try installing from something other than the original CDs. Does it still fail? My guess is your installation media is corrupt.
2. Is Windows Defender off? (Needs a reboot to fully take effect)
3. Are any security programs on your computer off? (Needs a reboot to fully take effect)
4. Did you perhaps recently update your grapics card drivers?
5. Try updating to the latest drivers anyway, see if it works
6. Try "updating" to a much older version of the drivers, see if it works

Well copying the files that are my laptop that work perfectly fine to my desktop and just running them does the same thing.1. Try installing from something other than the original CDs. Does it still fail? My guess is your installation media is corrupt.
Yes.2. Is Windows Defender off? (Needs a reboot to fully take effect)
Only got Kaspersky, I had tried with that off also. Are any security programs on your computer off? (Needs a reboot to fully take effect)
Nope.4. Did you perhaps recently update your grapics card drivers?
I am on the latest already.Try updating to the latest drivers anyway, see if it works
I would rather not, as it can cause a lot of problems with other games I play. I'm fairly sure it isn't a driver issue, I think it has to be in the registry because it only happened after running your patch and it overriding a very old version of your patch, I'm just not sure. I did play with my ports though and I am kinda thinking herik may be right, I'm going to change the router ports and some other stuff and see if that works.6. Try "updating" to a much older version of the drivers, see if it works
EDIT: WOW Thats super retarded, I don't even understand how port forwarding can cause those problems, oh well its fixed now herik was right, thanks anyway Omega.
