Most (if not all) 'Free Anti-Virus Software/Programs' you find on the internet are in fact viruses themselves...
Just buy some...

If you're not half retarded, you don't need anti-virus software.

Microsoft Security Essentials is pretty good and uses little resources. I definitely have to agree with Ghost, if your not half retarded you don't need anti-virus.

I haven't used ANY anti-virus or related internet security software for YEARS. In reality, anti-virus software doesn't prevent you from getting a virus, it just removes it after you already get it and gives you the option to scan a file before opening it.
If you stay away from anything malicious on the internet, you run no risk of having an infected EXE. Everything nowadays is commercialized and under scrutiny, so if something can do any harm, you'll most likely know before you even consider downloading it. Besides, if you do get a virus, you'll definitely be able to tell and you can just Google the removal solution without having to have a background program running and sucking system resources 24/7.
Then again, not everyone knows their way around a computer as well as I do, so that's why this type of shit was invented. I only think you need it if you don't trust yourself with your computer's safety.
