Empire Earth on Steam

I originally noticed Empire Earth appearing in the Steam Database about four years ago.
After waiting for one year, I decided to ask Rebellion, who at that point owned the branding and probably the source code of it, if they're planning to release it.
I didn't even think that they'd reply back, but they did, with a not-so-helpful reply.
Here are the tweets:

Does somebody know who actually owns the code and the license of the game at the moment? I'd like to contact them.
The Empire Earth binaries on Steam, which are not accessable by the public, were updated just three months ago, as you can see here:
https://steamdb.info/search/?a=sub&q=Empire+Earth

Maybe we can get some sort of updated statement.

Doesn't Activision own the rights to EE? They're not going to do anything with them.

Apparently they sold it to Rebellion some time ago.
Check this out: http://www.rebellion.co.uk/games/empire ... ld-edition
Also the Steam packages showed Rebellion as Publisher back when that information was still accessible (was patched recently by Valve, so you can no longer see it on the SteamDB)

That's good to see. It would be nice to have EE on Steam, maybe then more people will realize that we still exist. Of course they would be playing a different version so I'm not sure how much it would help.

But if they realize it's still being played, they can convert their version to neoEE.
