What the Hell? No Scenario Topic?

Today I thought I would be nice, and write up a nice big complication for building scenarios, variables, effects and just random glitches. I thought I would just come on here and there would be a scenario topic but there's not. I dont see why there isn't. The only reason I play ee is for the scenarios. Also it was going to be a slow complication as I am to lazy to type out a huge one. I would just add bits and pieces here and there.

I also have a quick question. Ive seen to come to the conclusion that its impossible to have a kill counter and a store because if you minus from a variable the Kills variable will just replace the "money" removed. So I believe the only way is to minus from the kill counter which fucks all. Please if anyone knows any other ways.

I've noticed a couple of new scenarios popping up, and they just SUCK! Not many people know about variables or the fact you have to decrease reload time instead of increase it. Yeah so could an admin quickly add a new topic for scenarios. I know it inst much work you just hit a button and type the name in so just do it.

I also really need another place to whore lots, and post crappy scens made by me which sound great but when being made just get worse and worse. Ive almost finished my scens so yeah.

you make your counter = to variable lvl not kill lvl, if variable goes down then the resourse your using goes down

if player 1 buys units x for 10 gold then variable 0 - 10 and gold - 10

if player 1 gold > varable 0 - 200 gold from player 1 <--- this will remove any tributing or tribute glitching from a scen as well

think i actually have a few guide/quick reference triggers still around somewhere, couple on my comp but others i cant get because i dont have 3.5 floppy

But the only way to record kills is with the units kill option isnt it? In my scen I have set it as If Units Killed greater then V0 Add one. Then i have If V0 greater then food add 1 food.

Could you explain yourself a bit better sexacutioner? I dont fully understand your method. I also seem to be unable to find any scenarios that have these sort of triggers.

well you dont give resources across the board, just use one resourse or give a resourse to an object in order to do your kill counter, and never use the resource for kill counter for anything but a kill counter

but any resource your going to be using needs to be linked to a variable

you still have to use the actuall kill count for your counter but you still need that resource linked to a variable that way you can remove shit if its to high either from glitching or tribute

i have those triggers in most of my scens

I have my triggers set up so:

If Units Killed > Variable 0

Add 1 to variable 0

If Variable 0 > Food

Add 1 food to player.

Now if i try to take from V0 its just gonna go straight back up which wont be very good. I'm still not understanding. Don't suppose you could put yours in that layout please.

Just add another clause that says.. If Food > Var0 Then Set Food = Var0. But, unless you plan on letting the player spend the resources he gains somehow, you shouldn't be giving the player resources. Instead you should do like Sexa said and assign food to a Capitol (player can't delete it or change amount). You can do that with the same method you said, just don't give the food to player 1, give it to player 1's capitol.

Well if i give it to a object, I still need to give gold or something to the player so he can use that for spending at the shop.

Then you should have:

If Units Killed > Var0:
Add 1 to Var0, Add 1 to Capitol's food, Add 1 to either player's gold or another building

This way, the Var0 is the kill count and it makes sure the player only gets 1 food and 1 gold for each kill. If you want players to be able to tribute gold to each other for buying stuff, give the player gold. If you don't want them to tribute, then use another building like a University or a Bank (AoC Only) and give it gold. Then when they spend, it can just subtract gold from either. You can't give two different types of resources to a building, so don't try to keep food and gold on the Capitol because they'll just add together.

If you want to make more work for yourself, then you could add another Var1 which would be amount spent, and then constantly be setting Food = Var 0 and Gold = Var0 - Var1 (or, when you add to Var0, also add to Var1 but subtract spent amounts from only Var1, then set Gold = Var1). This will allow you to give the players resources and nullify any tributes if they do them.

Pretty much if you just tell me exactly what you're trying to do and what you want players to be able to do, then I can help you better.

Yeah i got onto sexa today on the lobby and we got it working. Now i cant get my shop working keeps going into negatives even though i have my conditions.
