Empire Earth loosing players quickly ?

Is that wrong or is it just like i see it.

EmpireEarth is loosing players very quickly right , we do not even get over 90 anymore. And i know several people who left. But don't see that much newcomers.

So is it Desperate or is there any possible way to win new players ? Is it possible to do anything like advertisement??

But i think one question is , why are we loosing so many players ? and acutally players who played for years in the old lobby.
So is it because we have several banns and muts every time ? Yes, i think so .
But also the fun isn't the same in the lobby. I don't know why but i think the design got a lot to do with it.

I don't realy can say anything profasional , right , but i can tell that if it goes on like this we would not even loose players cause of this , we will loose them cause of a new reason : There are not enough players anymore. I dunno if we can do something against it or not.

Iwe do not even get over 90 anymore.

Actually we still surpass 100 regularly, This past weekend there was a steady 100-120 in the lobby.

So is it because we have several banns and muts every time ? Yes, i think so .

If they quite because they were being banned/muted then that is sad but unavoidable. The flipside would be people leaving because the people who deserve to be banned/muted aren't. So if people will leave for one of the two reasons, I personally prefer he former.

ive seen new ppl every single day. whether they have stayed or not thats arguable. but EE will grow slowly imo. thing is experts will get frustrated with the lack of skill...

Empire Earth certainly is loosing players. However, I think you're overestimating several causes as well as ignoring a lot of other causes.

First, you need to keep in mind:
1) Most people have school right now (compared to the summer, when most do not). Since holiday break is coming up soon, people have exams, etc. These are mostly seasonal losses.
2) Again, holidays. Most people get busy with non-empire earth related stuff. These are also mostly seasonal losses.
3) Lots of people are leaving because let's face it, Empire Earth is extremely old. Don't expect the same players who stuck around to stick around forever, new games come out, people get bored with Empire Earth, or their priorities change to the point where they're not interested in it anymore, etc. These players are permanent, or at least long-term losses.

Let's face it, Baboon, Empire Earth was loosing players long before the server shutdown. The game was steadily declining, and everyone who had been around for awhile knew it. We lost a ton when that happened, since a lot did not know about any new system, too, but we've also gained new players, and from what I can tell the rate at which we are currently loosing players (for good) is lower than when we were on the old system.

So, now to answer the questions you've raised in your post...

The losses you're currently seeing are due to people's lives getting very busy with holidays, and school. These losses are never permanent, since amazingly, when people aren't extremely busy the amount of players rises.

There are also plenty of newcomers, I get asked a question by a first time user or player every few days (at the most infrequent). A lot of them do not stay though, because the community does not welcome them or treat them very well at all.

Start advertising. Get your friends to get Empire Earth!

And as I've already mentioned, considering how un-friendly the community at large is to new players, do anything you can to change that. Unless that happens, all the advertisement in the world won't do anything.

The reason we're loosing so many now is people are busy. These are not permanent losses.

The reason we're having permanent losses among people who've played for a long time, is that they're more likely to be older... You can figure the rest out I'm sure.

I don't think we're loosing very many players due to bans and mutes at all. Most people who are muted get muted repeatedly, so they're definitely not leaving are they? Pretty much all of our bans are for cheating or for offenses that could get the lobby shut down (porn, hacking save-ee, etc.). I'm not sure why people would quit over those bans, can you elaborate? And, if you mean the people who are being banned, well, do we want them to stay?

Empire Earth is already loosing players because of this reason. I quit YEARS ago, when there were comparatively massive amounts of people still playing because I didn't feel there were enough players--it wasn't possible to get all-expert games consistently or regularly at that time, and it sucked. It's still not possible, except maybe for Pre, and this is with the bar for expert in practically every setting being lowered considerably compared to the past.

I obviously came back, but I know dozens of players from that age who did not, and will not because the community is simply too small for them, and virtually no one left even plays the settings they like the most.

New players also leave for the same reason, not only is the community actively hostile to them, but it's small. Go make a smurf name and see how many games you get kicked from after you tell the players it's your first game on EE, ever. Then again, new players came to EE and left it YEARS ago as well.

My point is, this isn't a new phenomenon, people leaving due to community size has been around for a very, very long time, and isn't going away, so to sound the alarm that, at a time where everyone is ridiculously busy, not a lot of people are online and therefore some people might start to leave because the community size is small is well... Kinda naive.

The patch for AOC has made a lot of people quit over the past 4-6months. I'm sure school has taken a few too, but the patch really hurt AOC.

But yeah for EEC less people are on because of school and holidays. No way school part of year would be just as active as the summer. That is never the case in any game.

i think they simply used the patch as an excuse phobia, those ppl who "quit because of omegas patch" also weren't on very much at all. found a reason and quit, if it wasn't omega making a patch it would b some other reason "mods" or "noobs". yes omegas patch altered civs and units for mid, but i dont c ppl using pilums/moorish cav , unless u play with diablos and barbs.

It's also the end of college quarters right around now. Which means finals galore.

I doubt the patch is the sole reason people quit but it is a big factor for sure. I'd bet money on it.

Thx omega , it took me around 20 minuts to read this ^^ , but it coverd everything.

Well , i think there are so many people who have contact to old players , and even when they are pro , they won't be pro at the beginning cause of their huge brake.

I tried it several times , for example quitsotrm came back for some days , he left and noone realy know why.
I realy think it is not the hard thing to get the new players , it is to hold them in ee.

One simple option to solve some probs.

We have to leanr the empire earth players all sets , so we automaticly have more players

there is currently a very active amount of players on gameranger.. ive been on there helpin them out. and when i think some are good enough i direct them to save-ee. because lets face it if i got the noobs on they wud hate it and probly never come back. when i see players who are v good and want more competition i tell them go to save-ee... also im training many of them as we speak.

It does seem that people are leaving... I've known a few that have left and refuse to return because of the state of the community. One refuses to even play games that are on the lobby when I send him the IP via IM because he says lobby games are horrible.

Many times people are just openly hostile to each other. The only time I can play an open, friendly game any more is with friends and there's a password on the game. This also has to do with why new players often don't stick around. They can't experience the fun of EE because its covered up by other players being rude.
