Bizarre screen freeze in Multiplayer

I just had the weirdest thing happen to me on the first multiplayer game I was observing. Every time I opened the chat window to say something or tried to move the map the game froze, and I eventually had to terminate the process because I couldn't get it to respond.

I was using EEC with the NeoEE patch, and I have already experienced issues with the vanilla EEC, though nothing like that with AoC. Seeing as the game blew up on my face, is there any problem in trying to use the Art of Conquest for EEC games? I mean, are they compatible at all?

EDIT: Nevermind, I found out what was wrong. Turns out I need to reinstall or something.
