Hello,
I am trying to get random positions working in a multiplayer scenario, but it only selects on position every time. Is there an easy way to get this to work.

i don't think there is any 'random' feature in the editor.

you can make it so that a player spawns 'inside' area 0, not sure if thats compeltely random though. But then again, some players might spawn right next to each other if this is done.

Re: Scenario with random positions for players
believe the only way is through Scenario Editor and tedious scripting. Here's a helpful tip though: if you are playing near friends and don't want to be too close to each other, do this - host player hosts game. Add computer player(s). Your friend joins after. Depending on how many friends and computer players, you can get the map to spawn you further away from each other rather than having islands next to.
