Yes mine walling is allowed, you're allowed to place settlements around it to block off your citizen.
If mine walling wouldn't be allowed, the whole concept of walling (including walls) would be illigal in pre2nano/space.
You're just not allowed to 'box' your citizens in 1 square.

Re: A Good Place To Start
Minewalling is using buildings around one mine to completely block the access to that mine. This is not allowed. The rule you're suggesting is way too easy to abuse, which is exactly what happened.
Remember simple_faith and joey used to play p2s...
Using buildings to wall off a path, or even turn the map into two, is completely different, and is allowed.

Re: A Good Place To Start
i've played hundreds of p2s between 2010 and 2013 and mine walling was always allowed, just the 1 box thingy wasn't allowed.. We used to wall it so that there are 5 open squares around the mine. So I don't know when this 'no wall at all' rule was implemented, but back in the time p2s was played a lot (ofc less compared to old servers) it was still allowed.

What does "5 open squares around the mine" mean?

Grey: settlements
Black: tower
pink: iron mine
white: open spaces (3)
This has always been allowed when i was playing p2s games. Perhaps the rule changed between now and a year ago tho.

Re: A Good Place To Start
That hasn't been allowed since like 2011. Right before we made the no minewalling rule basically ever 4v4 game had 2 pockets going tower civ. While the wings was basically untouchable after like f11 20. This was incredibly boring, and we had to make the "no minewalling" rule.
What you're showing is exactly what would make a tower-player imba.

when 'we' so far only 'you' made that rule then. Since when 'I' used to play a lot of p2s, mine walling was only against the rules when you used 1 box/tile.
