Playing on the same network

Post by Nkay11 »

Hi guys,

Just started playing this game online and absolutely love it... However, i downloaded it onto my brothers laptop earlier and tried to host a game for me and him but it just won't connect. Keeps on just saying connecting to server. I have a feeling it's because we're on the same network, is there a way to fix this?

Thanks in advance.

If either one of you can host it shouldn't be a problem. If you guys want to play over lan then try turning off your firewall (on both computers) open EE -> Multiplayer -> Other Multiplayer and select the Lan tab before hosting.

Need help opening ports let me know!

Thanks for replying mate.

I have tried hosting it on both of our computers but no luck :( we both get into the lobby... My bro clicks on 'ready' and i start the game but it just sticks on connecting to game and won't actually connect?

We don't really wanna play on LAN as we'd like to play with other people too.

I'm able to join anyone elses game so that's not the issue, it's just when we're trying to play together :/

Alright, then you have to open ports. If you dont know how, say your routers name (brand and model) and I will find a guide for you.

If you want I could try to help you with teamviewer?

teamviewer is software that allows the connector to temporarely control your computer (they will see your desktop, and can use your keyboard/mouse.) you can disconnect at any given time.

www.teamviewer.com it's better explained on their website I guess :P.
