I am organizing the first Arena event.

How does it work?

Basically we will create 2 accounts (both of which will have an eC tag) whose passwords is shared amongst all the participants.
Every good, known player is welcome to join, and you don't have to be in eC in order to play in the event.

Players using these 2 accounts will remain anonymous, and can only play against each other. This will make it so you will never know who you are actually up against, and your opponent will be oblivious of your identity too. They will just know you are a good player from the pool of participants, and so will you.
This is to add a bit of unpredictability in the 1v1s

RULES
_While using any of the two accounts, you are not allowed to reveal your identity prior, during, or after the game to the other player.
_You are not allowed to play any game besides the 1v1s against the other participant when using the name.
_Players will only be able to play with Blue and Cyan as their colours
_You shall not make your identity obvious by logging off your actual name and instantly come back with the Arena name.
_You are not allowed to publish the results of your games anywhere, nor post your score.
_Nobody other than arena players are allowed in the room.
_You shall not discuss about your theories on who the other player might be with other players.

I do like the idea of this tbh.

My proposal would be, to add a bit of purpose to the games played, maybe forming a league table.

So for example, AFTER the game has been played, you both reveal who you guys are and then obviously the winner would receive three points etc.

See what you guys think. I'd be happy to be the one to keep control of a league table because I have no life and enjoy doing things like this.

Sam, what do you think about dave's idea about making a league type tournament? Everyone play everyone 2 times, each win is 2 points or something like that.

Aye, I really like that idea, the beauty of it as well would be there would be no need what so ever for me to put time limits on when matches need to be played. I can just update the league when games have been played, there would be absolutely no rush.

I do like and support the idea ( count me in), but i cant think of any useful ranking system atm.
"Play each other 2 times" : With anonymous participants? Can take forever till all games played.

"2 points for each win/loss" : Sounds like not fair at all ( play worst guy 10 times in a row -> numebr 1 spot?

So while i agree with the idea, should just be started when it can actually work.

Im also very unsure of how good one can protect his identity.

Gurke - I believe you have misunderstood the two ideas being proposed.

Mine and Samuel's ideas are two completely different ideas.

Mine would work in a way that is more or less identical to a professional football league.
So you would play everyone in that league twice (Two fixtures) (b03/b05 = ONE fixture) and only twice. So it would be completely even because EVERYONE would play each other the exact same number of times as everyone else.

Also, there wouldn't be any hidden identities cause that would very much defeat the object of my idea lol
