Anti-Cheating Poll Results

Post by Omega »

Here are the corrected results of the poll. Corrections made are the following:
1) Removed votes from people who specified entirely bullshit names like "blow me". (Note: These votes were included in the circumstances where it could be conclusively verified they were cast by legitimate users who didn't vote more than once in the poll).
2) Removed votes from people who voted multiple times. (They were brought down to one vote, like everyone else gets).

1. [*] Do you currently play Empire Earth (a.k.a. Empire Earth Classic/Original)?
No - 23
Yes - 128
Total Answers - 151

2. [*] Do you currently play Empire Earth - The Art of Conquest (a.k.a. the Empire Earth Expansion)?

3. [*] What is your Lobby User name (Select the one you most frequently use)? (Note: This question exists only as a measure against idiots who would try to manipulate the survey by casting multiple votes--results from it will not be made public, or used in any way other than to be doubly sure that nothing fishy is going on in regards to the voting)

So basically there is a 60/40 split. 60% want to at least try a no tribute patch. We should give it a go.

Summary + Changes
For questions 8 and 9, the most popular option was to continue with current anti-cheating measures. The second most popular options in each case were disable the tribute screen, and try the game with the tribute screen disabled for one week.

However, we can safely assume that everyone who's ready to say now that they'd like to disable the tribute screen permanently wouldn't have any issue trying it out for a week. As such we have the following:

For EE: 51.97% are open for the one week trial of no tribute screen.
For AoC: 51.97% are open for the one week trial of no tribute screen.
(Also keep in mind there's a fair amount who were for, or wanted to test out no tributes, a stricter measure than now, but less strict than no tribute screen)

The bar for including a change in a final version of a patch was set at 60% for the last poll, and I really don't see why something that's a simply majority isn't good enough for a simple test.

Test version will also contain changes voted on in the last poll, and whatever the final version ends up being will also include those changes, obviously.

Edit: P.S. Thanks for beating me to it, Ghost -.-
Edit 2: Fixed glaring math error.

If it would be possible to delete the tribute function, but still make it possible to enter it, to see which civs my opponent got, I would agree with u. The thing is it should be a test for the time that may come w/o the whole tribute screen and there we won't be able to enter the screen anymore. So I think if we test it we should dive into the water and just give the whole tribute screen away for one week.
