A game related to cossacks

Hello everyone, I'm searching for a game which is looking like the cossacks serie. Similar gameplay but more realistic.
It's about the civil wars in america in the same age.

Playable nations:

Something with Union.
The federation.
And some more.

Unlike cossacks, here you have to place workers in your barracks, and train them to warriors.

I really hope someone can help me with this, as I can't find it anymore.
It would be alot easier if I knew the game title .

That reminds me, I have American Conquest but never installed it. I assume its good?

American conquest was a fun game pretty realistic for a game from 2003

That's good, and it focuses on a time period I enjoy. Perhaps I shall move this up to number three on the list of uninstalled games I need to install one of these days.

Oke great (sarcasm.), my game will either run with flurry pink/blue/green dots appearing all over the screen, OR I can play in compatibility mode and the game will not run proper, it laggs like shit even tho the requirements are lowzorz.

Anyone tips :\?

Try looking for here I guess and see if any of the posts mentioned the same problem. I would say you could try the Steam forums too because they support the game, but they are usually quite useless.
