Hosting Guide by _Ownage^DJ_™

Hi, my name is DJ and i made this Guide for Hosting people who want to host and don't know much about routers etc.

0. Introduction
If you have a Modem or you already have your ports opened and you can't host that means that either software firewall/programms blocks ports or your ISP (Internet Service Provider) does via NAT.
In case of NAT ask your ISP about more inforamtion.

ALWAYS BE SURE YOU FORWARD TO THE CORRECT IP-ADDRESS.

1. Router or Modem??

1.1. Modem
If you have a Modem and you can't host, either a Firewall or your ISP blocks ports.
If ISP blocks ports, ask him about opening them. He may helps you.

1.2. Router
If you already have your Ports opend and you can't host that means maybe you forward the Ports to a wrong ip (this can happen when you use a DHCP-Server which automatically gives your pc a IP-Address or you use an other comp) or your ISP also block it. Just write an Email to your ISP and I am sure he will respond and maybe open the ports.

2. Setup Guide For Routers

2.1 Finding the IP-Address of your comp
Always keep in mind that the ports are forwarded to a IP-Address (It may changes if you automatically get the ip and so you can't host, so check it from time to time).

First press Winodw-Key + R
Type CMD
Press Enter
A Window shows up (Commandline)
Here you see a picture of it:

Enter ipconfig
Press Enter
You will now see some addresses like IP-Address, Subnetmask and Standardgateway
like the picutre below.

2.2 Forwarding Ports
If you know the Model and Manufactur of your Router go to http://portforward.com/
There you search your Manufacture and below select the Model.
After you did that you will get to an page with advertisements. Just click at the top of the right side to skip it. Now Select the game you want to open the ports for.
Follow the Tutorial and hope that it works.

IMPORTAIN
"Static IP" how it is called in portforwrd is the IP of your PC!!!!!

If you don't know your Model and Manufacture (maybe your Router is somewhere you can't reach it)
Just open a webbrowser like FIrefox or InternetExplorer and enter the Standardgateway-Address like
http://192.168.1.1 for example.
Default Usernames and Passwords can be found here: http://www.phenoelit-us.org/dpl/dpl.html
or just below.

Standard Passwords/Usernames
Username _____Password
(leave it blank)__pass
(leave it blank)__password
admin_________(leave it blank)
admin _________pass
admin_________ password
administrator___(leave it blank)
administrator___password
administrator___pass

If you were able to access your Router you show see some information on the webpage like manufacture and model which leads us again to http://portforward.com/.

IMPORTAIN

Hope the Guide helped you.
