Noobie comp imo at least it does have an PCI-E x16 1.0 so if you did want to do some gaming you could to an extent, but because PCI-E 1.0 is at it's max now 2.0 is now the better way to go and 3.0 will be out soon.

I'll post the specs to my kid comp since my comp is only a year old.

$100 Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 2.5 ghz oem Overclocked to 3.2 ghz
$20 Cpu Cooler, ZEROtherm Core92 CPU Cooler (tigerdirect sale)
$51 Motherboard, EVGA NVIDIA nForce 750i (Recertified)
$58 Ram, Kingston ValueRAM 4GB (2 x 2GB) ddr 800
$110 VideoCard, ASUS EAH4850 TOP 512m
$40 Case, Foxconn TLA-882 with 420watt psu

Total = $379.00

And this plays every game on the market at max settings except Crysis.
I can't say I go the same route for my computer because I don't buy oem cpus, recertified motherboards or value ram but this comp verse my intel I7 with ati 4870 x2 runs with it very nice and It's $500 cheaper :)

$379 + monitor cost and printer cost

mine came with free upgrade of 19inch lcd widescreen and an all in one printer which broke about a year later lol, monitor still doin fine though my comp was $400 + tax whatever the hell that was and they gave you a $50 gift card for random comp shit wich i used to buy the 1 gig of ram, was gonna put more in it but theres no need with it running everything i need it to run fine

i only play probably 2 high graphics games and i can run them on max settings with no probs
the elder scrolls 3 runs fine for me
world in conflict runs fine for me (prob my highest graphic game)

and ive always prefered celeron/athlon over intel and never needed to overclock them for better performance

first comp i had to buy was a 366mhz for $300 and it never lagged with any games back then and i had it for first couple years of my ee play till i got drunk and spilled jack n coke inside the case somehow lol

usually end up replacing my comp every 2-3 years so would never spend much at all on one then i usually sell the old one for 2-300 except my last one cause it had an accident

Her computer is 2 years old (cpu+videocard upgrade at year 1/2) and will be fine for the next 2-3 years. I don't think anyone overclocks cpus because it is needed It's just a option btw celeron is intel.

She had a 22 inch Samsung already so no monitor/keyboard/mouse/speakers were needed. No printer was needed because everyone in the house prints off my laser printer which is the pimp of all printers :)

i dont realy print much either
and when i said intell i meant their highend ones
i never buy video cards only ever use the integrated chip because most of those cards cost more than my comp lol
mines little over 3 years old i think, ive had it longer than i usally have comps due to the economy and no one wanting to pay me to do shit as much anymore lol

im still using the keyboard that came with my first comp and people hate using the comp cause they cant type for shit and they cant see the letters lol, my mouse i had for about 10 years till it finally broke a few months ago
i have quite a few back up mice and keyboards if i ever need them, but i cant fuckin stand ball mice lol

There are some good value cards on the Market for $150 and less.
ATI is the best bang for the buck, I bought my nephew a ATI 5770 for his birthday which cost me $140 on sale at newegg and it's a really good card compared to 4850 not that it shouldn't be faster the 4850 is 2 years old.

Im gonna build a PC since the other one i bought was complete fail, i live near a Microcenter and i can buy from newegg and tigerdirect so finding the card wont be a problem, ill go around 100~ for it and shouldnt we start a new topic? were talking about graphics cards now and not Windows XP/7
