None of said DMers you mentioned play any more but myself and a handful of others still play Mod DM at a high level.

As for actually playing, just install EE [and AoC], download the lobby, and the lobby has a patch program that will automatically update and patch the game(s) for you. Just let it do its thing and watch for any pop-up prompts on your screen.
