Re: I propse a project of epic proportions
Yeah actually the problem with World War II is that there is so much to work with. The Battle of Britain would be easy to make but would be hard to make it fun. Out of that list Stalingrad, D-Day, Battle of the Bulge, and Okinawa would be great scenario. Monte Casino would be very hard to make because of the slow pace of advancements made throughout the battle. See the shittyness of the WWI scenarios on EEC to get a good example of what I'm talking about. But anyway I definitely understand what you mean. Especially because it is so recent and there is so much information out there, and because of the many places that it took place, World War II would be a good time period to base a campaign off of after alot of thought is put into the best way to order the scenarios and figure out which ones have possibility for the most flexible storylines.

Something to consider is that you don't necessarily need to keep it historically accurate.P-51 wrote:Yeah actually the problem with World War II is that there is so much to work with. You could re-imagine the history akin to say, a sci-fi show depicting an 'alternate earth'.
Perhaps in WW2 Japan sided with the allies, and Hitler was really a cyborg puppet sent from the future in order to change the outcome of a war then so it's more favorable for a certain side... Or whatever.

Re: I propse a project of epic proportions
I really enjoy history so keeping things historically accurate is fun for me. But I have considered alternate history campaign too for things like that (not the cyborg puppet part lawl). Because of the way EE is built I'm not sure if its flexible enough to handle a true alternate history campaign so it would have to be heavily scripted, which could still be interesting if it stays within the boundaries of historical plausibility. I actually have written an alternate history campaign about what would have happened if Bela Kun's Communist revolution in Hungary succeeded after World War I and Hungary ends up have a much more important role in Europe. But I have never started making the scenarios for it. Maybe some day.

I got next week off from school so I should be able to get alot of work done on this. But we need templates. If anyone is available tonight or tomorrow night around 10:00 EST then assistance would be appreciated.

I've never done this shit b4 but I do have time this week b4 I start my job. By template do you mean a rough map? If so I can give it a shot and you can reject it if it sucks or change it around a bit if it isn't too bad. Just give me specs on what you're looking for.
And if I'm way off and don't know what you're talking about...then just say, "spora you are retarded."
Thanks,

A template is basicly the saved game with the player names in them and the settings you choose. (like if we play mid sh 1v1, the saved game will contain PM sporatik & Trichome Lightnessking), in a template we want to make, people shouldnt be named with long names, but with easy remembered names and short.
If you make a scenario in scenario editor without a template, then the game you're making won't have any multiplayer players in it, therefore people can't play it online

You cannot make another post so soon after your last.

ah gotcha, thanks light. p-51, maybe make a list of specs you want so ppl can fuck around with them. i.e. how many players, there names, size of map, what map should look like (aka which battle(s) are we trying to re-enact).

Well at the moment we know we want to have a six player scenario and the names will be "Player 1" through "Player 6".
