Personalized hotkeys

Post by Arntzen »

So apparently few people know how to change the hotkeys in EE. I'm wondering what you guys would want to change?

My immediate thought was to change (as I did in sc2) the control groups 6-7-8-9-0 to f1-f2-f3-f4-f5 and change idle army from comma to Q.
Rest of the hotkeys im so familiar with that I'm unsure if I want to change them at all.

Ideas?

If possible make A and Ctrl+A work for airports from ww1+, but also work on archery range from Stone to Ren.

Shift tab. You can do it a lot quicker in games where there is zero lag (aka vs the computer), but still.. That's achievable in normal games as well. Great grenstart by the way :D

not to mention that he's not using 6 citz on ctrl twice, capitol on ctrl, slow hippo luring (lol at the 2nd cit moving back instead of luring hippo), no rax rally, extremely bad settlement placement. Oh and very important, super fast upgrades. (Cough) (yes i know you can press h for capitol, still best to get used to a ctrl group assoon you start adding other tc's, unless ofcourse you're extremely bad and cannot get enough food to use a 2nd town center. then stick to h.)

So really kazter, saying this is a great grenwar start... wow sir. You're getting worse at this.

Oh no. The frightening double-post. :D That's more like it.
Now, objectively speaking its a great grenwar start. No denying that. 15 grens at f11 3.06 is great. Honestly, I can't remember the last time my opponent did that.
7-7-2-2-2 is the way to go. Ghost/Omega/Slipknot or whoever posted this is focusing on grenadier production, and the player is doing this very well.
A great start a perfect start.

It's posted on the eetrainvideo channel, and it's just the first three minutes. Of course it's a training video.

As the cool internet kids from 1990's would say: I prescribe you a chill pill.

18 shortly after 3f11 used to be the target for wings in 4v4 (with 80 iron tribute from pocket). And remember that was for actual games, without knowing exactly where iron was at the start. And without the tribute, usually not possible.

This was typically accomplished with 6-6 or even 5-5 on iron. You had to try to squeeze the extra 3 units, so getting barracks a little faster than usual was important, but you also had to get a steady flow of iron. It was definitely a balancing act.

It's possible to get your first few grens faster but it's only useful if you want to rush and you're confident you can take your opponent quickly. If you're sliding, you only need to get your grens as fast as that person PLUS travel time from their base to yours. This gives you some wiggle room at the start (i.e. select iron cits first or select rax cits first), allowing the strategy in the video to prevail in most cases.

For the record, Omega made that particular video.

@Ghost Why would pocket tribute iron?
Also I've not seen 18 at f11 3.. I might try out myself, but I think you're thinking about swords. Never even heard of 18 grens f11 3.

doesnt matter how much grens you can pump if you dont know how to use them.
based on how hippo luring and all other things i've stated above are done, i assume the usage of grens are also below average.

bad vid.
